Where is Sura?

After the chill schedule in Alleppey, Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay was working in Marakkanam for his 50th film ‘Sura’. The shoot that started on October 21st was to can a few stunt sequences on the Uppaneri Bridge near Marakkanam Salt Lake. Vijay fought with villain Dev’s gang for almost threes days, say the sources.
Then after a three days gap, the shoot resumed in Prasad Studio and AVM Studio on October 27th. Sources from the film’s crew said that two song sequences were shot in the studios with grand sets.
Now the whole team is gearing-up to start the third schedule of the shoot in Hyderabad. This schedule will be starting from November 5th onwards.
When things are going like this, birdies chirped that ‘Jayam’ Raja may direct Vijay’s 51st film. But latest we could hear sources stating that Lingusamy has approached Vijay with a script.
Ok let’s see what our Sura hunts next…

Suraa- 90 lakhs for Tamanaah

Gone are those days when heroines used to earn a little, compared to the heroes. We hear that Trisha took home 80 lakhs for a Tamil movie and 1.10 crore for Telugu after paying the income tax last year. The next highest paid lady was Nayantara who earned 70 lakhs for Tamil and 85 lakhs for Telugu. Though Shriya came in later, the girl also demanded 85 lakhs.

Before three years the producers were paying nothing more than 40-50 lakhs for the lead ladies of their movies. A leading producer says that heroines started to point out Tollywood which pays the heroines like no where, and started to insist more. Furthermore, heroes with more popularity started to demand such heroines for the projects and pushed the producers to hire heroines for high rates.

Till last July, it was Trisha who was the No.1 in the Industry but the white beauty Tamannah has pushed her down now. The latest hot news we hear from the production house of Vijay’s 50th film ‘Sura’ is that Tamannah is paid 90 lakhs.

Another shocking news that adds oil to this sky-high salary matter is from Kamal’s office. Birdies say that there are a lot of possibilities for Tamannah to be roped in for the Mysskin-Kamal project that is on cards. And so, the girl’s salary might touch a crore’s mark very soon!

Sura’ starts the hunt

Ilaya Thalapathy’s most awaited 50th film ‘Sura’ is fast shaping-up in Alleppey. The film has Vijay donning the role of a fisherman named Sura and is paring-up with white beauty Tamannah. The whole industry and fans are eager to see this project come alive soon.
It’s a usual practice to take extra care in selecting Vijay’s villain. This being an even more special film, the close-circle of Vijay discussed and chose Pasupathi for ‘Sura’. But now we hear a different story…
The director has recently shot the intro scene of the villain and the hero. And to our surprise it was ‘Magadheera’ fame Dev who was in the set instead of Pasupathi.
We then caught a close source from the campus of ‘Sura’ and got to know more…
When Dev came down to Chennai to meet KS. Ravikumar in regards to the baddie role in Ajith’s 50th film, things changed. On knowing Dev’s arrival, Vijay’s people threw a net over him for ‘Sura’, say the sources.
It’s worth it to mention now that Vijay’s circle bought the title rights of ‘Sura’ from Sivaji Films, which was meant for Ajith.

Vijay, Thamannah dumped by Kerala crowd

Actor Vijay has started shooting for his upcoming film ‘Sura’ directed by SP Rajkumar who recently made ‘Azhagar Malai’. The film is produced by Sangli Murugan and Thamannah stars opposite Vijay in female lead.
The film’s shooting has hit the floors of Kerala’s Alapuzha where Vijay saves Thamannah who’s drowning in sea. Once, the crowd got to know that Vijay is shooting for the film, they immediately barged into the sets and got autographs, clicked photos with him.
Finally, the cops had  to disperse the crowd hassling the film’s shooting.

Is Vijay’s ‘Sura’ remake of ‘Chota Mumbai’?

Vijay has all started shooting for his upcoming film ‘Sura’ directed by SP Rajkumar. But do you remember before years, where Vijay had made an open statement that he would love to remake Mohan Lal’s Malayalam movie ‘Chota Mumbai’.
Though nothing has been revealed by sources, certain things seem to be implying it so. The setting of film in the backdrops of Kerala’s coastal area where Vijay is a fisherman…. Thamannah does the female lead and search for another heroine is going on still. Sangli Murugan hasn’t said anything more on the film’s storyline. But you keep logging to this column for more and more updates and we’ll get you the right facts on this.

Vijay cooing with Tamannah

He is doing his 50th movie with this director! His 50th movie is this one! After so many rumours and guesses, the news is at last confirmed!
Vijay will be doing his 50th movie with ‘Sura’. The movie is to be directed by Rajakumar and produced by Sangili Murugan (of ‘Kadalukku Mariyadhai’ fame). ‘Sura’ is already on floors and the shooting is on full swing in Kerala. Here, Vijay is going lovey-dovey with white beauty Tamannah. Sources believe that the director is keen to wrap up the romantic scenes first. Hmm, looks like the director wants to give his best for remaining parts of the movie.
Look forward to ‘Sura’ in 2010!
